Tasting notes: This rich and rewarding lot begins with maple syrup sweetness that covers the palate. Golden raisins and honeycrisp apple bring a lightness to the body, followed on by quince in the finish.

Producer notes: Luis Pedro Zelaya, a fourth-generation coffee producer, grows his Bella Carmona on two farms beneath the shade of grevillea trees and Antigua's three volcanos, the Agua, the Fuego and the Acatenango. The combination of altitude, climate, fertile, volcanic soils and progressive farming practices have made the Antigua region one of the world's most celebrated, and Hacienda Carmona is a stand-out, even among so many excellent coffees.

Varietals: Caturra and Bourbon

Processing method: Washed

Wine analogy: Pinot Gris, robust and full of ripe fruit.
