Rooibos Red Tisane

Deep red, smooth, earthy, tea with sweet spicy cardamom florality balanced by the citrusy spice of pink peppercorn.
This tisane (non-caffeinated tea) is prepared primarily of rooibos leaves grown in its native home of the Cederberg Mountains of South Africa. The deep red liquor produced by steeping this tisane is the result of a high rooibos leaf to stem ratio, which is the visual hallmark of the more meticulous processing that is both demanded and justified by higher quality rooibos.
Rooibos leaves are naturally free of caffeine and have far fewer astringent tannins than tea leaves. However, rooibos is loaded with the polyphenols and antioxidants which impart many of the health benefits associated with tea consumption. The reddish brown color of the rooibos is the product of the oxidation of the drying leaves.
These rooibos leaves were selected for their lovely sweet, earthy, smooth cup characteristics and are blended with cardamom and pink peppercorns to create warming, grounding, relaxing cups of phenomenal tisane.

We recommend steeping about three grams of tisane (one to two tablespoons) per 8 to 10 oz cup. Water should be around 208℉. Steep for between four and five minutes.
