Ethiopia - Banko Washed
Roast level: Light
Tasting notes: Banko is a sweet, complicated blend of delicate flavors; a base of luscious stone fruit and crisp green tea highlighted by jasmine florality.
Producer notes: In the highlands of Southern Ethiopia, stretching south along a trail of famous coffee areas that are household names for coffee lovers, lies Gedeb. We’re no stranger to this part of the world; in 2017, Black Oak took home gold medals at the Golden Bean Roasting competition with coffees from just around the block. It’s in Gedeb that 650 nearby family farms gather to deposit ripe cherries at the Banko Gutiti mill to be collected, washed, and dried on raised beds before export.
A mix of heirloom varieties, grown from 1,900 to 2,100 meters above sea level, the finished cup of Banko is a sweet, complicated blend of delicate flavors; a base of luscious stone fruit and crisp green tea highlighted by jasmine florality.
Processing method: Washed
