Redd Tasting Notes
A special blend of floral washed-process Ethiopian Coffee and a round, full-bodied South American coffee. Roasted to create a balanced blend and perfect for espresso or traditional brewing. Redd Spring embodies the unique flavor and joy of the season.

Our Choice for In-House Espresso
The name Redd is a tribute to the salmon of the Russian River that connects both of Black Oak’s cafes as well as Mendocino and Sonoma county. This blend is used for espresso in both of our cafes. The composition of the blend is updated seasonally. This allows us to seamlessly transition between the most freshly harvested green coffee, while capturing the essence of the seasons.

Redd is carefully crafted to have the exceptional balance necessary to produce extraordinary cups of light espresso while maintaining a nuanced flavor that helps enhance the joys that are unique to the changing seasons.

Brew Notes
We recommend starting with a 1:16 brew ratio. Using less water will add to the body of the cup and concentrate the heavier chocolate notes. 205°F water works well for Redd:Winter

Roast Level: Medium/Light

Awesome Everyday Drip

We're huge fans of Black Oak. Used to live in Sonoma County, now live in Florida, but still order our beans from Black Oak. We've tried many different single origins and blends. This Redd Autumn is one of the best all around. It's a pleaser for those who like a slightly darker roast and those who prefer the nuances of light roast. I'm buying more.

Just great

My first cup was just great. It has a thick body, but yet inviting with its sweet and smooth taste. Perfect for the winter season.

balanced and flavorful

Every once in awhile I manage to get coffee that really suits the season and this has been one. It works well with the pour over method and our morning coffee has been very enjoyable.

A good coffee overall

This is a very pleasant coffee - makes a good cup of coffee be it via my ECM espresso machine or MocaMaster drip brewer. Was hoping for more of the "berry" and "red fruit" notes, but really couldn't get a taste of these in the cup - flavor was balanced with the milk chocolate undertone. The aroma was good/fresh with a touch of fruitiness to it.

I love the fruit smell

It's different from the classic Heartwood, but it could successfully bring the fresh in this warm season. It goes perfectly well with milk, love the seaonal products of Black Oak.

The BEST

This is the best darn coffee EVER. Wandered in while in town for a dental appointment, and was blown away. Got home and called to see what did I drink?!? And ordered the 1st of many bags to come of this magical elixer.

Best Black Oak offering so far!

This one displaces Honduras Roaster's reserve as my favorite Black Oak coffee. Simply delicious.
